Fish in her element sealing wins in two events

COLAC young gun golfer Georgia Fish dominated on the south-west over the school holidays, coming away with wins in Warrnamboo­l and Port Fairy.

The Barwon Sports Academy star was the girls’ gross winner at the Alec Calvert Memorial Trophy event at Port Fairy, while also claiming the 36-hole gross event at Warrnamboo­l.

It was the tip of a number of big re- sults enjoyed by local golfers who spent their school holidays on the golf course.

Fellow BSA athlete Lauren McCleland claimed the nett event at Port Fairy.

Curlewis star Ben Henkel performed well at the New South Wales boys championsh­ips, finishing in a tie for 24th.

At Victoria Golf Club Angela Hogan-Fox was runner up in the stableford event, while Fish finished fifth in the girls gross.

At Keysboroug­h Mitch Crabbe was runner up in the gross event, while he also claimed victory at Woodlands. Crabbe and another local Max Green tied for first, but the Barwon Valley golfer managed to claim the win on countback.

Also at Warrnamboo­l, Crabbe and James Daglas finished tied for fourth in the overall boys competitio­n.

Daglas was runner up in the under-18 36-hole gross competitio­n, while Green finished in the same position in the under-15 division.

Matt McFarlane was runner up in the under-15 36-hole nett competitio­n, while Ella Rogers performed well in the 36-hole stableford competitio­n.

Mitchell Crabbe claimed the round 1 18-hole scratch, Angus O’Brien claimed the same award in round 2.

Barwon Heads’ Donovan Shier claimed the round 2 18-hole stableford competitio­n.

Harry Larsen, Campbell Shier, Ava Rogers were all winners in a modified nine-hole competitio­n.

Finally, Crabbe finished eighth overall in the gross competitio­n at Yarrawonga.
