OUR MEGA PARMI

-

DON’T get yourself into a flap, the Godfather of all chicken parmigianas is here.

The pub classic has taken flight at Irish Murphy’s in Geelong with a big twist.

This monster parmi is made from a whole chicken, deboned, butterflied and crumbed to perfection.

The 1.2kg whopper caught the attention of ‘millions’ on Facebook when pub owner Tom Ward posted a photo of his new menu item last night.

“It’s about 5cm thick, has 200gms of cheese and a fair few slices of ham,” he said.

“This thing could feed a family of five.”

Mr Ward said some people were even willing to travel from Canberra to score a bite.

“There was a group of girls wanting to drive down from Canberra to take part,” he said. “It’s gone viral.” Irish Murphy’s will launch the Godfather, with five lucky people already reserving their place at the dinner table, tonight.

Those who polish off the meal under 20 minutes eat for free.

“We will start out at five, but will aim to serve about 10 (Godfathers) each night,” he said.

“We normally sell 150 normal chicken parmies a night.”

Irish Murphy’s will only serve the Godfather on Tuesday nights, with plans to expand to other days in the future. The $35 dish comes with chips and salad.
