THE $20 million Geelong Tech School build and Gordon TAFE refurbishment is officially under way, with State Education Minister and Deputy Premier James Merlino dropping by Latrobe Terrace yesterday to turn the first sod.

Mr Merlino said the tech school would cater for 18,000 students from 22 local secondary schools when completed in time for the second half of 2018.
