’Beer O’Clock’ right time for Cats fans

- STEPHANIE AZZOPARDI

THERE is a new place for a Friday wind-down in South Geelong.

Infusion, a cafe at the front of E & S Trading on Moorabool St, opened about two months ago.

Owning a cafe is a first for couple Luke Massey and Meaghan Little.

Ms Little was previously the manager of Uforic Food Cafe at Mt Duneed. “I’ve worked in the trade for 10 years, this is the first time going out on my own,” she said.

Mr Massey worked at the Geelong refinery and had been a part of the Channel 31 show, Random Aussies.

“This was the next project,” he said. “Meaghan is the master behind it all. She makes amazing food and is great with people.”

The pair said the cafe had been well received, especially workers from surrounding businesses.

“Every day it picks up … word of mouth is starting to flow,” Ms Little said.

The cafe serves all-day breakfast, with the garlic and thyme sauteed mushrooms on toasted rye with spinach, goat’s cheese and balsamic the most popular dish on the menu.

Takeaway has been another popular element to the cafe, with tradies able to pop in for breakfast or lunch on the run.

The fully licensed cafe runs “Beer O’Clock Fridays”, with beer, wine, cider, food and live music most Friday afternoons.

This Friday it will be a special pre-footy evening before the Cats take on Sydney at Simonds Stadium.

The cafe also does catering. Infusion, at 531 Moorabool St, South Geelong, is open from 9am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday. Visit infusion.com.au or find the cafe on Facebook to find out more about special events.
