A REBELS bikie with a long history of drug trafficking has had his visa cancelled and been put into immigration detention pending deportation.
UK-born Danny Mousley, 57, was picked up by police and Australian Border Force officers last Thursday.
News Corp understands Mr Mousley’s visa cancellation was ordered by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection Peter Dutton.
The Werribee man arrived in Australia as a teenager and his visa was cancelled by the Government on the grounds of his links to the Rebels outlaw motorcycle club.
He has a long criminal history, with numerous drugrelated offences.
Since 2014 a total of 148 people linked to bikie gangs have had their visas cancelled.
In 2009 Mr Mousley, who has ties with the Geelong chapter of the Rebels, was sentenced to 4½ years in prison for trafficking amphetamine.
At the same time he also received a two-year sentence for knowingly dealing in the proceeds of crime.
His national police certificate is understood to be three pages long.
Previous offences he has being charged with include possessing an unregistered firearm, failing to comply, possessing amphetamines and driving a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.
A Victoria Police spokes- woman confirmed its officers assisted the ABF in detaining Mr Mousley last week.
His supporters have posted on social media saying his visa cancellation is unfair.
Mr Dutton declined to comment on the visa cancellation.
Over the past three years the Federal Government has been on a drive to revoke or refuse visas for people with serious criminal convictions.
Nationwide, criminals and bikies from New Zealand, the Middle East and England have been kicked out, including longstanding residents with Australian-born children.
Victorians affected include English-born bikie Daniel Roach, whose visa was revoked while he was visiting Thailand.
Italian crime figure Francesco Madafferi has also lost his residency status and will be deported when he completes his jail sentence.
The Government has been pursuing foreign-born bikies as they seek to break up the outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Laws were amended in December 2014 to give the Immigration Minister greater powers to revoke residency.
About 80 per cent of the orders are appealed.
