The limit in frustration
THE speed limit along Anglesea Rd is set to be slashed as part of a raft of planned new safety measures which will add time to the trip.
Everyone drives 20km under the limit already. Damian Poulter
Anglesea Rd needs to be dual lane from Ring Road to Anglesea. Try thinking about the future long-term investment. Have fun during peak holiday traffic times getting anywhere. The biggest problem is congestion and hardly any safe places to overtake if necessary. Janelle Schulze
Time to move. Jacquilyn Douglas
More traffic on Surf Coast Highway. Brian Willert
Now it is getting crazy ridiculous. Trish Macdonald
Here’s an idea, why not educate people on safe driving? Instead of reverting to the mindless nanny state solution every time. Willem Schuitman
There is no need to reduce the speed limit. If anything, widen the roads like two lanes, more passing lanes as all original areas to pass were changed to double lines. Repair the poor surface of the road in certain areas to meet the increased traffic since the Ring Road. Theresa McGuane
Drivers need to learn how to drive in all conditions at all times of day and night along these roads. I reckon if the muppets had to drive from Lorne to Geelong every day themselves they’d soon have the speed limit up to 100km/h. Restore the 100km/h limit to Lorne. Lachlan Cairney
How painful. So many people don’t drive at the proper speed. Carmel Brownhill
Enough already. Between the bloody tourists and the reduced speed limits, it’s already taking an extra 20 minutes or more to get to town. Jessey Jackson
Oh God, please no! Drivers I follow already drive 10-15km/h below the current speed limit, it is excruciating. Raelene McDonald
Good. For seven years I’ve cringed while entering and exiting on to Anglesea Rd in Freshwater Creek, 100km/h in what should be a school zone. Seriously, no turning lane 100km after a bend to turn on to a school road. So dangerous. Tarah Smith
