EAGER ROLPH SOUNDS WARNING

- GRACE KALAC SEABL WOMEN

LADY Supercat Ebony Rolph is seeking redemption in the SEABL East conference final against Kilsyth tonight after missing last year’s final series with a broken hand.

“I’ve been without finals for a long time,” said Rolph, who made her Supercats debut in 2011.

“So I’m really excited to jump in there and grab that conference final that we’ve been after for so many years.”

The 23-year-old rising star said last week’s 64-57 win against Sydney Uni ensured the team gathered momentum and were prepared for Saturday night’s contest.

Rolph contributed plenty of support, shooting six points and collecting 12 rebounds.

“As soon as I get on the floor and the whistle blows, that feeling of adrenaline rush, it just excites me so much.”

“I can’t wait to get out there with all the girls,” she said.

The dominance of the second-placed Lady Supercats this season has surprised many.

“No one expected us to do as well as what we have. And I love being the underdog,” Rolph said, adding the team’s 74-66 loss to the Kilsyth Cobras two weeks ago was a blessing in disguise, keeping them on their toes for the clash.

“Having already played in Kilsyth, played on their home court and having obviously played Kilsyth as well, it sets us up with what things we did wrong and how we can improve,” she said.
