Sister act makes a carnival comeback

BROWNLESS sisters Lucy and Ruby are excited to be Geelong Cup ambassadors for a second year.

The Melbourne-based daughters of Cats legend Billy are pleased to be returning home for the role, with the 2017 campaign titled Our Cup, Our Town.

“I love that the Geelong Cup kicks off the spring racing season,” Ruby said.

“It’s close to home for us and it’s great to see so many locals at the event.”

Lucy said, “The whole of Geelong comes together to support a great day, and I get to enjoy the day with my friends and family.”

Lucy, 21, and Ruby, 19, will judge the Westfield Fashions on the Field.

“We’re looking forward to seeing some exciting, confident style choices,” Lucy said.

Geelong Racing Club has added a new aspect to the day this year with Little Geelong, which will offer pop-up versions of the city’s finest food and beverage offerings, live music, big screens and Westfield Geelong Fashions on the Field.

There will also be the new Rex Gorell Volkswagen Parade Ring Lounge, perched beside the mounting yard, with lounge furniture, all-day gourmet grazing and track views.

The cup will be officially launched this morning at the racing club.
