Punters stick with Geelong

-

ONE ambitious punter has put $5000 on Geelong to defeat Sydney tomorrow night but the odds are not in the Cats’ favour.

The fan stands to collect $17,500 after loading up on the $3.50 head-to-head odds on Geelong.

Another punter also believes the Cats are a strong chance, putting down $1000 on a Cats win.

“Sydney (at $1.33) will be the shortest priced interstate side in a final since 2009,” TAB’s Dylan Atkinson said.

“However, only one of the top six shortest — Hawthorn in the 2015 preliminary final — has gone on to win the match, which gives Geelong some hope in this match.

“Geelong’s recent record in finals is well publicised and the punters think it will continue in this match,” Atkinson said.

“About 79 per cent of the money has been on the Swans to win and they have firmed from $1.40 to $1.33.”
