Readers driven potty

-

Readers responded angrily to our story of a Wallington dog trainer who had been told by Geelong council he was no longer allowed to repair the pot holes on the dirt lane leading to his rural property Can’t have ratepayers taking things into their own hands and actually doing a decent job of it. Next thing we’ll have to take our own hard rubbish to the tip! Oh, wait... Rob Jenner The council need to get out and have a look at the state of Geelong and surrounding roads. In 40 years of driving these roads I have never seen them so full of pot holes and broken surfaces like they are at the moment. Do we not have road crews fixing them anymore? Have noticed a few that have taken up to two years to fill. Alan Eaton Election is coming up. Get on to who is running and see what they can promise in order to get votes. Julie Ford Pot holes aren’t getting repaired anywhere; period. Ross Piper This is utterly ridiculous, this road is used by many and cannot just be closed off. Pull your finger out council and fix the road or at the very least let the locals continue to do it like they have been for decades Jordan Barker Oh, does this mean the council will fix the potholes ASAP, is that what the council mean? Well? Council? Fiona Crawford Put plants in the holes. Someone did that in Britain to protest pot holes! Craig Beatty We used to go down there for the horse riding centre and it would take me forever to drive down that road as the pot holes were atrocious. Natty Gee Has it still not been fixed? Pretty sure a horse nearly got lost in one of those pot holes. It’s terrible. I hate driving down there with the float on and horse down the back and that was a few weeks ago now. Jess Westbury This is absolutely deplorable. All it will take is for the council to be sued. Then they will fix the road. Nicole Worthy If someone is injured or has an accident on this road due to the unauthorised road works who is responsible? The two businesses? Don’t involve ratepayers in your stupid argument with council. Sally Parker
