Daisy set to go around again

DALE Thomas will remain at Carlton alongside fellow veteran Kade Simpson next year if he is prepared to accept a significant pay cut.

Coach Brendon Bolton is adamant he wants Thomas at Carlton next year after a solid 18-game season.

It is understood the Blues are also keen to thrash out a new deal for half-back Simpson after another 22-game season for the 33-year-old.

Carlton expects Adelaide to launch another assault on Bryce Gibbs but for the moment is staying firm that he is a required player.

Thomas voided his games-based contract clause with the Blues this year in a decision Bolton yesterday labelled a “bound by Blue” act.

But coming off a $750,000 contract he would have to accept $200,000 to $250,000.
