“We’d love to have loads of support there helping us keep Bryce’s memory alive.”

THE family, friends and supporters of Corio boy Bryce McKiernan are preparing to pound Geelong city streets and the waterfront in his honour.

Loved ones have entered a team in the annual Run Geelong event that will raise funds for Geelong hospital, where Bryce was a regular visitor for 15 years.

The Nelson Park student passed away last month after complications resulting from his lifelong battle with kabuki syndrome.

Bryce’s mum Stacey said her family would enter the Cotton On 6km Family Walk, but the community could compete under the “For the Love of Bryce” team name in any event.

“If you sign up, please send us a message as we’d love to see who will be there with us,” she wrote on the Bryce’s Beat Facebook page, used to document his journey since 2015.

Bryce also formed a strong bond with Geelong Cats captain, Joel Selwood, a long-time Run Geelong ambassador.

The pair spent time together on a number of occasions, including at Bryce’s community party and during the Cats’ annual team photo.

The family is also calling on businesses or individuals that might be able to help with the design and production of team T-shirts.

Those wanting to sign up to the For the Love of Bryce team, can enter BRYCE20 in the promotional code box before selecting a ticket type to receive a 20 per cent discount.
