Tools in garages a target for burglars

- RESIDENTIA­L BURGLARY BURGLARY (OTHER) THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PROPERTY DAMAGE

POWER tools were stolen from garages and a shed in Corio, as well from a Highton constructi­on site and a house in Belmont. Computers and vehicle keys were stolen from Grovedale.

On the Bellarine Peninsula, a Portarling­ton farm house was targeted, while a TV and other electrical appliances were stolen from an Ocean Grove holiday home. CASH and credit cards were stolen from a licensed premises in Geelong West; a licensed venue in Newtown was also targeted. Cash was also stolen from a sports facility in Belmont and tools stolen from farms in Anakie and Eurack. NUMBER plates were stolen from a driveway and a street in Corio, a front yard in Hamlyn Heights, a Highton street, a Norlane street and a Whittingto­n carpark.

Cash was stolen from a car in Grovedale and power tools were taken from cars parked in Norlane, Geelong and Lara. A VEHICLE stolen from Belmont was recovered nearby. Two cars were stolen from Corio; one was found in Moorabool and the other seen in Norlane.

A car taken from Geelong West was recovered in Little River, and one taken from Grovedale was found in St Albans Park. Two cars were stolen from Hamlyn Heights with one found in Bell Park and the other in Norlane. A vehicle stolen from Newtown was recovered in Belmont. A SCHOOL, a building site and the train station in Lara were sprayed with graffiti. Windows at a civic centre and residentia­l houses were also broken. The Corio train station was defaced and a park, and homes in Bell Park were graffitied. Norlane windows were also damaged.
