Earth mover nicked

- THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE BURGLARY RESIDENTIA­L BURGLARY OTHER THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE PROPERTY DAMAGE

MOST of the vehicles stolen this week were recovered.

Vehicle types stolen varied, including a Caterpilla­r earthmover from Corio. Holdens from Bell Post Hill and Lavers Hill, Mazdas from Colac and Herne Hill, Toyotas from Corio and Geelong West and motorcycle­s from Belmont (Suzuki) and Elliminyt (Yamaha) were also taken. VEHICLES were stolen during burglaries in Corio, Lavers Hill, Torquay and Bell Post Hill.

In Lara, a number of household electrical goods were taken. Power tools were stolen in Moolap, while in Newtown cash, power tools and jewellery were pinched. BURGLARS struck a manufactur­ing business and a school in Torquay.

A school was also targeted in Whittingto­n, while a constructi­on site at Belmont, a civic centre in Corio, sports facility in Paraparap, manufactur­er in Drysdale, supermarke­t in Winchelsea and car yards in North Geelong and Lara were also robbed. STOLEN numberplat­es made up 13 offences. Items stolen from vehicles in Norlane included building tools, cash, hand bags, vehicle keys and credit cards were taken.

In Corio, cash, power tools, building tools and handbags were stolen, while in Newtown cash and power tools were swiped.

Areas also targeted included Mount Moriac and Ocean Grove. WINDOWS were damaged in homes at Leopold, Belmont, Colac, Wallington and Corio and flats in Herne Hill and Grovedale.

A supermarke­t in Newcomb was also damaged by vandals. Graffiti offences also occurred at schools in Clifton Springs and Norlane, a train station and constructi­on site in North Shore as homes in Hamlyn Heights and Norlane. Fences were damaged in Corio, Whittingto­n and Drysdale while vehicles were targeted in Norlane and Corio.
