SEXUAL ASSAULT CLAIMS A WAY TO EXACT REVENGE

WITH the toxicity surrounding everything political and public these days, I would not be surprised who is accused of sexual harassment, whether guilty or not.

The perfect tool for revenge.

DRINKING WATER VITAL TO STEM THE FLOW OF DEATHS

IT was very distressing to read that globally a child dies every two minutes from preventable diarrhoeal diseases caused by dirty water and poor sanitation (Spend a penny to wisen up, GA, 3/11).

That’s 800 deaths a day and completely unacceptable.

But it was also extremely encouraging to learn that just $40 can provide someone living in extreme poverty with a clean toilet.

That’s very inexpensive.

Governments, businesses, schools, religious communities and individuals here in Australia could together go a long way to making sure every person in the world has a proper toilet and safe, clean drinking water.

These are basic human needs without which none of us could survive.

Water Aid Australia sounds like a terrific organisation with an extremely vital goal and very deserving of community support.

STATE GOVERNMENT OUT TO DESTROY THE CFA

THE State Government is imitating Donald Trump with fake news regarding our local CFA.

The continued attempts by the Labor State Government to destroy the CFA is indicative of waste and corruption for political power.

If you exclude Lara CFA call-outs to the prisons, then the volunteer CFA statistics move to an 89 per cent attendance within the targeted time.

Perhaps Mr John Eren could move the prison or allow access to the prison by the CFA so it too would be within the targeted time?

Prisons have to move to lockdowns and make secure their premises before the emergency services can get access.

Where is Mr Eren explaining the statistics, based upon fact, so there is not panic and fear in the community with the fire season approaching? I expect touring around or attending events instead of being in touch with the community who voted him in. Why isn’t truth used to inform and make valid decisions on our community safety and spending?

Bowing to unions to destroy the CFA is more important than decency and care for the local community.

TEXT TALK

AT least there’s some new blood elected. Many folks still dispute the fact that sacked councillors should be allowed to run. Don’t worry there’s plenty of us keeping an eye on you now.

Dan, East Geelong CONGRATULATIONS to Sarah Mansfield on her election to council. A smart lady with Geelong’s best interest at heart. Sarah for mayor!

Stu, Newtown NO point in having family entertainment scheduled for 9pm (light Christmas tree, fireworks and light show) when the last bus to Newcomb leaves the city bus terminal at 9.15pm. A bit of liaison would help.

Disappointed tourist GRRR (GA 11/11). Yes, I do agree with Darryn Lyons.
