Somewhat of an introvert, celebrated Aussie musician Sarah Blasko bravely opens the doors to her creative process in Blasko. Narrated by Sarah herself, this doco is a warm and revealing portrait of the artist as she writes her new album from scratch. Poetic and moving, the documentary explores Blasko’s life and history through her songs. Featuring musical interludes, diary-like admissions, theatrical imagery and snippets from friends and family, it also touches on the musician’s upbringing by religious missionaries and the loss of her mother when she was 23. Focusing on 2016, when Blasko was struggling with her identity, it’s raw stuff.
