POINT LONSDALE CHRISTMAS TREE

THE spectacula­r Point Lonsdale Christmas tree will be lit in a special family event tonight. Forecast bad weather won’t stop hundreds of people coming down to enjoy a night of carolling and fun at the Point Lonsdale Primary School hall from 6.45pm. Community carols begin at 7.30pm, followed by a guest appearance from Santa.

CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD

THE Geelong Chorale and Geelong Handbell Choir will lead a concert of carols and Christmas songs from all over the world. Organisers promise the songs will a mix of everything from the well-known and well-loved to the new and exciting. This event will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church, today from 5-6.30pm. Tickets for the performanc­e are $25 for adults, while concession is $20.

CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGAN­ZA

ANOTHER year of GPAC’s popular musical mornings winds up with the cast from Promac Production­s, celebratin­g 30 years of touring Australia, bringing plenty of Christmas cheer. The cast will sing many of your favourite Christmas carols and popular festive season songs withplenty of laughs along the way. It’s on Wednesday and Thursday. Tickets are $20, available at gpac.org.au or at the box office.

FAMILY FUN DAY

A FAMILY fun day to get everyone in the mood for the fitness season will be held today, with many free activities for families of all ages, including a free jumping castle, massages, popcorn, sausage sizzle, raffles and market stalls. If the kids are good, the man in red might even make an appearance. Festivitie­s will be held at Energy Force Fitness, 33 Murradoc Rd, Drysdale, 10am-3pm.

POTATO SHED SEASON LAUNCH

THE Drysdale art hub is gearing up to kick off its 2018 theatre season on Wednesday. A variety of events will be presented, including cabaret, circus, ballet, family entertainm­ent, songs and dramatic works. Some special guests are expected to make an appearance. It’s on 6-7pm, at The Potato Shed, Drysdale.
