Lotto luck hits Colac syndicate

THE year has ended on the luckiest of notes for a 10member Tattslotto syndicate from Colac.

Each member of the syndicate will take home $145,128.26 after winning Saturday night’s $30 million ‘megadraw’.

The win sees Colac maintain its reputation as one of 2017’s Lotto hot spots.

The winning entry, shared by a store syndicate at Colac Lotto in Murray St, which also sold division one winning entries in March, April and July, delivering a total of $4,531,594.85 in division one prizemoney to the region in 2017.

The Colac syndicate had one of the 21 division one winning entries in Tattslotto draw 3801, with five coming from Victoria, with the other state winners bought at Coburg, Wendouree, Rye and Berwick.

In addition to the division one win, the syndicate’s multiple-system entry also won division 3 18 times, division 4 45 times, and division 6 once, bolstering its total prize to $1,451,282.53.

Colac Lotto owner Ros Monaghan said discoverin­g her outlet had sold another division one winning entry had “made my day”.

“Oh my god! That’s the fourth for the year. We’ve sold eight division one winning entries during the past 10 years, and four this year alone.” she said.

“I’ve joked about it all week that we were going for four for the year and it’s happened. I can’t believe it. It’s sensationa­l.

“We’ve had a bad week of news in Colac so it’s great to see some good local news for a change. These 10 syndicate members are going to have a very happy new year.”
