Gracious Grace a hit on net

BARWON HEADS woman Grace Cheatley has captured the hearts of the internet for the kindness she showed a fellow Aussie traveller in trouble.

The 23-year-old university student was preparing to disembark a flight from Switzerland to Dubai when she noticed another solo traveller struggling to get his luggage from the overhead locker after indulging in one too many drinks on the plane.

“I just had the best trip of my whole life and I was so happy to be coming back to Australia. As soon as I heard him say ‘I’m from ’Sraya mate’ I just laughed and thought ‘of course you are’,” she said.

“I can’t imagine being that drunk anywhere let alone in an airport overseas on my own. I had to help him.”

Ms Cheatley recorded the hilarious encounter with Western Australian Boris Pascoe and the video has since taken the internet by storm.

She helps him down the escalator, fixes his clothes and minimises the attention of security.

“We were arm in arm the whole way,” Ms Cheatley said.

“I was speaking to him like his mother saying ‘ don’t embarrass me’ ... Then I left him at his gate to get him some food and water and said ‘if you move you’re in big trouble’”.

Ms Cheatley spent her three-hour, middle-of-thenight stopover minding Mr Pascoe.

After navigating the security checkpoint for his next flight, he is smiling and grateful.

The strangers were reunited online when Mr Pascoe commented on the video uploaded to Facebook.

“Can’t thank this girl enough for getting me on my flight,” he said.
