SWEET ORANGES

GINGERS have never had it easy. Red was seen as the colour of the devil through the Middle Ages and gingers were considered witches during the Spanish Inquisition. Now they have to contend with dwindling numbers — (less than 2 per cent globally). But the fightback is on. In response to the creation of the horrible Kick A Ginger Day on January 12, Derek Forgie came up with the idea to mark tomorrow as Kiss A Ginger Day. Anglesea siblings Daisy and Jasper Law (pictured) got into the spirit of the event yesterday.
