LACK OF PRIVACY ADDS TO CENTRELINK DISCOMFORT

-

RECENTLY, a friend of mine had cause to visit Centrelink. He was appalled at the lack of privacy.

Firstly, he stood in a queue and someone was entering his personal particulars into a tablet and while this was happening the other people in the queue were able to hear every word.

Further to that, when he finally sat at a desk to be interviewed there was still a lack of privacy as all such interviews are conducted in an open area and the conversation, which by now is even more personal, can be heard by others.

I think this sort of arrangement is a disgrace.

People who are in need are treated as second class citizens with no thought to their discomfort at a time when discretion should be uppermost in the management of their affairs. Shirley Code
