Bananaman slips up

-

A DAY at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court is never the same as the last.

And that certainly proved true yesterday when an unusual name appeared on the court list.

Facing courtroom five for toll infringements was a man whose legal name was Bananaman.

The name is usually associated with the fictional comic book character who rose to prominence in the 1980s. In the British comic strip, a boy transforms into the superhero after eating a banana, gaining superhuman strength and the ability to fly, all while wearing a cape resembling a banana skin.

In this more recent version in Geelong court, the man had his unpaid tolls partially dismissed. He still owes $1320, with the court allowing him to pay it off in $200 monthly instalments.
