Kate loves her first circus roll

- TAMARA McDONALD

PERFORMER Kate Martin experienced her first taste of travelling circus life this week in Corio.

Martin is working with Circus Royale, which is performing at Sutcliffe Reserve in Corio until Sunday.

“I just love the lifestyle, the people, we’re all in it together to perform and entertain people,” she said.

Martin graduated from circus school last month after training for five years, and has been doing “rola bola”, involving balancing on a cylinder and board, for a year.

Her circus role sees her balance and roll around on a board and steins of beer, performing tricks while dressed as a German beer maid.

Martin said the stint in Geelong had been a good introduction to circus life. “It’s just such a big lifestyle change,” she said.

Circus Royale will perform afternoon and night shows today and tomorrow, and morning and afternoon shows on Sunday.

Tickets can be bought at the ticket office, by calling 0410 669 253 between 9am and 9pm, or online.
