SEARCH ON FOR STABBER

- – ERIN PEARSON

A WINCHELSEA man is recovering in hospital from a stab wound to the shoulder following an assault at a home in Bell Post Hill.

Emergency services were called to a home on Newton Ave after reports an injured man had staggered more than 150m from a home on Rollins Rd seeking help about 8am yesterday.

Police said the 31-year-old knew his attacker, and they were still searching for the armed offender.

Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Lana Wilson said the injured man was taken to Geelong hospital in a stable condition. “We were called to an address in Bell Post Hill with a male aged in his 30s taken to Geelong hospital,” she said. “He had sustained upper body injuries.”

It follows the stabbing of a man in Whittington on Monday. An 18-year-old was taken to Geelong hospital in a serious but stable condition after allegedly being assaulted at a house in Redstone Court.

He too staggered from the scene in search of help and was treated by paramedics on Solar Drive about 6pm.
