ACTING THE PART FALLS SHORT IN LEADING ROLE
WITH all due respect to Paul Williams and his article (GA 3/1), I cannot see the Australian public voting in any shape or form for a president or head of state, be it 2020 or whenever.
Throwing up a celebrity or a well known leader in their field starts to show a weakness in the argument, but it really hits home when suggesting a politician should be trusted to instigate a plebiscite or a postal vote, when the current bunch that represent us in parliament are incapable of running this country full stop.
Their incompetence on so many levels, leaves no other alternative but to shelve the idea all together.
