Voges cops Big Bash ban

-

PERTH Scorchers skipper Adam Voges will miss tonight’s top-of-the-table BBL clash with Adelaide after being penalised for a slow over rate for the second time this season.

The Scorchers were found to be 5.25 minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs in the last-ball loss to Sydney Thunder.

Voges’ first offence came against Brisbane on January 5, when the Scorchers were six minutes behind.

The two strikes means Voges has been handed a mandatory one-match ban.

It comes as Ryan Harris was reprimanded by Cricket Australia for tweets he sent in the aftermath of Alex Ross’s controversial obstructing the field dismissal. Harris called it “an absolutely disgraceful decision by the umpires” and “very, very embarrassing”.

Harris, who accepted a suspended $3000 fine, is employed by CA as a high performance coach and is coaching the Australian under-19 side at the World Cup in New Zealand.
