The three day festival kicked off with a sold-out event at Piano Bar last night.

Tomorrow, the Pride March will take to the streets, starting at Little Malop Street and concluding at Johnstone Park for a BBQueer Picnic in the Park.

Organiser Lyndal Coon, of Geelong Rainbow Inc, said the weekend had been brought together by passionate volunteers.

“It’s a full program ... which caters for different tastes and possibly even different ages,” she said.

“We’ve also kept it as affordable as possible so if they want to go to multiple events they could.”

Ms Coon said there was a real demand for the event in Geelong, with many people taking part in similar activities in Melbourne.

“We’re looking to find out ... how (the community) would like to see it grow and introduce
