Cash, computers and cars targeted

- BURGLARY OTHER BURGLARY RESIDENTIA­L THEFT OF MOTOR CAR THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES

A CONSTRUCTI­ON site, fast-food outlet and health clinic, all in Corio, were targeted by thieves this week.

The suburb was a hotspot for commercial burglary, with building materials taken from a constructi­on site, cash and computers stolen from the fast-food business and a computer taken from a health clinic.

Elsewhere, a computer was stolen from a school in Bell Post Hill, while power tools were pinched in Colac and a safe and cash were targeted at a restaurant in Torquay.

HOMES in Corio, St Albans Park, Barwon Heads and Colac were all tageted by thieves this week, with power tools and home electrical items among the most common items stolen.

Jewellery, mobile phones and household electrical were stolen during a burglary in Corio.

Power tools were taken from a St Albans Park home, as well as in a Colac burglary in which the stolen items also included a TV and home audio equipment.

House keys and the victim’s car were taken during a house burglary at Barwon Heads.

VEHICLES were stolen in suburbs including Bell Park, Clifton Springs, Newtown and Norlane.

All the cars were later recovered by police.

CASH was the most common item stolen from vehicles in the past week.

Cash and credit cards were stolen from vehicles in driveways in Newtown and Highton, as well as cars in driveways and a sporting facility carpark in Norlane.

Cash and a mobile phone were taken from a car in a driveway in Lara, while a computer and handbag were taken from a residentia­l driveway in Armstrong Creek.

Clothing and house keys were stolen from a vehicle in a driveway in Bell Park.

Number plates were stolen from vehicles in driveways in St Albans Park, Norlane, Geelong and Hamlyn Heights.
