Husband breaks silence, tells of family’s grief over wife’s ‘cardiac arrest’ as homicide detectives continue probe
AN OCEAN Grove father has broken his silence over the death of his wife as Homicide Squad detectives work to establish a cause of death.
Ryan Marriner told of his family’s pain after his partner Samantha Kelly, 41, died on Australia Day after being found unconscious in her newly built home. She later died in hospital. Mr Marriner said Ms Kelly died of a heart attack, but Victoria Police say they are yet to determine a cause of death.

Ryan Marriner has taken to social media to explain his family’s pain after his partner Samantha Kelly, 41, died on Australia Day after being found unconscious in her newly built home. She later died in hospital. Mr Marriner said Ms Kelly died of a heart attack, but Victoria Police say they are yet to determine a cause of death.
“Our family has suffered the worst loss imaginable. On the 26th of January, Samantha, my wife and my boys’ mother, tragically and unexpectedly died of cardiac arrest,” he wrote.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said the investigation into Ms Kelly’s death remained “ongoing”.
“The 41-year-old Ocean Grove woman was located at an address on Conran Drive on January 26. The exact circum- stances and cause of her death are yet to be determined,” she said. “The investigation is currently with the Homicide Squad and anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
“The investigation into the death of a woman in Ocean Grove remains ongoing.”
Paramedics were called to the Conran Drive family home Ms Kelly shared with her plumber partner and two young sons about 5.15am on information of a “medical inci- dent” before police were called in for examination.
Police have since interviewed Mr Marriner and have said there is no “manhunt” under way for a suspect.
Ms Kelly was an RMITschooled marketing pro- fessional and listed as the director of her husband’s plumbing company Yellowgum.
