SUBURBAN SCRAP RECYCLING SERVICES

-

WHO knew the scrap metal removal process could be made easy and attractive? This is exactly how Suburban Scrap Recycling Services work, they are the specialists in helping the community recycle their unwanted and unused material in the most efficient and eco-friendly possible way. From going into your home and removing your washing machine, to clearing a farm of its unwanted scrap metal, the team at Suburban Scrap Recycling Services (SSRS) can handle any job and are even experienced in demolition and removal of large steel structures. Owner of the business Jackie Matthews has been around the industry since she was young. Her dad used to own his own scrap metal company and she would regularly go out on jobs with him in the truck. She officially began working in the industry 17 years ago and launched SSRS in Geelong in 2017. She said on a domestic front the service they offer is unique to the region. “We will go into a person’s home and take their scrap metal out for them,” Jackie said. “They do not need to lift a finger as we will do all the lifting and moving for them. “We are genuinely interested in what people want. Some residents are reluctant to give up their scrap metal because they think ‘someone might use it one day’ but things like iron gates, outdoor settings, or even fridges and bikes can be given a new life with SSRS. “We are all about helping the Geelong community to recycle or reuse. “If someone has an attachment to an item we will do our best to repair it and either donate it on or re-sell it for re-use.” The business is fully insured and covers the Greater Geelong region including the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast Shire and Golden Plains Shire. Jackie is passionate about doing the best job possible for her clients. While she has a team of trained drivers and removalists, she enjoys going out on jobs to meet with customers and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. “I love being able to meet residents and give them an easy solution to manage their scrap metal,” Jackie said. “We love giving people the opportunity to contribute to a One Planet Living lifestyle by offering a service for them to be able to recycle things that may have usually just been thrown out or left cluttering their home.”
