Cops quiet on probe
Mum’s mystery death
VICTORIA Police are refusing to answer questions surrounding the mystery death of Ocean Grove woman Samantha Kelly.
The 41-year-old mother of two died in hospital on Australia Day after being found unconscious in her Ocean Grove home and taken to Geelong hospital.
Two months after Ms Kelly’s death, police refuse to confirm if an autopsy has been completed or if any results of an autopsy will be publicly released.
This week Ms Kelly’s distraught husband Ryan Marriner took to social media to break his silence over his wife’s death.
Describing Ms Kelly’s death as the “worst loss imaginable”, Mr Marriner said his wife “tragically and unexpectedly died of cardiac arrest”.
But police have not revealed if they have established the cause of death.
Police media spokeswoman Creina O’Grady confirmed homicide detectives were investigating.
“This investigation remains with the Homicide Squad and they have nothing further to add at this time,” Ms O’Grady said.
“They will not go into the specifics of their investigation.”
Paramedics were called to Ms Kelly’s Conran Drive family home she shared with her plumber partner and two young sons about 5.15am on information of a “medical incident” before police were called in for examination.
Police have interviewed Mr Marriner and previously said there was no “manhunt” under way for a suspect.
