Familiar face heads new legal office

- DAVE CAIRNS

GORDON Legal has announced prized recruit Rachel Schutze, formerly of Maurice Blackburn, will head its new Geelong office.

Founded by Peter Gordon, who is more recognisable as the Western Bulldogs Football Club president, Gordon Legal will open its Moorabool St office for business on Tuesday.

Ms Schutze is a leading plaintiff personal injury lawyer who was the long-time Geelong principal of Maurice Blackburn.

She is also married to Member for Corio Richard Marles.

“Geelong is my home and I have a strong commitment to assisting the people of this community who are injured at work, on the road or in other circumstances,” Ms Schutze said.

“I have built a strong reputation in Geelong for assisting injured people and I want to continue that work with Gordon Legal.”

The Geelong office, the first Gordon Legal office outside Melbourne, will initially operate with three local staff.

“We are growing all the time,” Ms Schutze said. “Gordon Legal has received many resumes from talented legal staff looking to work and live in Geelong.”

Mr Gordon said the Geelong office recognised the commitment of the firm to serving working people in Geelong.

Mr Gordon founded Gordon Legal in Melbourne in 2010 after decades of experience at the forefront of plaintiff law and workers’ compensation.

Gordon Legal’s Geelong office is at 183 Moorabool St. For more details, go to www.gordonlegal.com.au.
