Developers to vie for Belmont block

A PRIME developmen­t site in Belmont is the only property going to auction in Geelong this weekend.

Five more auctions will be held across the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast.

The 663sq m block at 22 Pavo St, Belmont has a threebedro­om house on it that is “unrenovata­ble”, according to McGrath Geelong agent David Cortous.

“It is a bulldoze job, a lot of developers are looking at it and it should be a quick and fiery auction,” he said.

The north-facing property in a popular Belmont position could potentiall­y be a two townhouse developmen­t site, subject to council approval.

The property will be going to auction tomorrow 10.30am. Price hopes $420,000-$460,000.

Belmont is a popular sub- at are urb with prices continuing to grow. CoreLogic data shows the median house price in Belmont has increased 14 per cent in the past year to $490,000.

Along the coast there is a variety of properties going under the hammer.

The first property listed for sale in Breamlea this year will be going to auction tomorrow at noon.

No. 24 Blyth St is across the road from the walking track to the beach and has a four-bedroom house on a 900sq m block.

Hocking Stuart, Torquay agent Josie Currell said there had been plenty of interest in the property because Bream- lea was very tightly held. Price hopes are $800,000.

A rooftop terrace with spa is also attracting several buyers in Aireys Inlet. The modern masterpiec­e at 52 Aireys St is surrounded by bush.

Great Ocean Properties, Aireys Inlet agent Marty Maher said a couple of interested parties already had property in the area but were looking to trade up.

The property will go to auction tomorrow at noon. Price expectatio­ns are $2 million to $2.1 million.

The remaining auctions will be held at 460 Grossmans Rd, Bellbrae, 328 The Esplanade, Indented Head and 2 Mainsail Drive, St Leonards.
