Hues a good kelpie

GEELONG experience­d its coldest day in five months on Saturday as a cold snap hit the region.

Wet and windy conditions saw temperatur­es fail to get above 16C on Saturday, which was the lowest maximum since Melbourne Cup Day.

The rain continued yesterday with 7.2mm falling by 3pm and the temperatur­e in Geelong barely getting above 17C.

A number of beaches across Geelong and the Surf Coast were closed yesterday due to poor conditions. Updates can be found at emergency.vic.gov.au.

Showers are expected today and tomorrow, before dryer conditions prevail until at least Saturday, when a top of 25C is forecast.
