A FIERCE RESPONSE TO FALOU’S HEARTFELT VIEW

-

CONGRATULATIONS to Peter Moore (GA 13/4), for bringing some rational balance into the furore over Israel Falou’s comment.

This debate shows how a social minority, supported by people of influence like Alan Joyce who is remaking Qantas in his own image, can cause a big debate when offended.

The claim of “homophobia” is readily directed when the claims of the LBGTI community are opposed. I believe the phobia is only evident in their own reactions.

Israel’s comments were not his opinion, but were an answer to a question on the claims of God as he understood them. He didn’t ultimately condemn anyone to hell, but asked for repentance. Is it possible to have an open examination of homosexuality, its causes and effects?

There must be reasons why it was declared criminal, why the three great religions have condemned it.

Israel may have opened a door for an honest examination in place of the current “politically correct” insistence on social inclusiveness without question. Pastor Frank Lowry, Aberdeen St Baptist Church, Geelong.
