Locals given opportunity to head the bill in Geelong fight night
CLINT Alderton’s Asia-Pacific title bid will headline an all-star boxing tournament in Geelong in June.
The eight-bout Quest for Glory bill will see light heavyweight Alderton take on an overseas opponent in a 10round fight for the World Boxing Foundation title at the South Barwon Civic Centre on June 9.

“We’re bringing in some very tough opponents for a boxing night Geelong won’t ever forget.
“We’re looking forward to giving the boys a home crowd to show off to — and to showing off Geelong’s talent to rest of the country. I’ve been involved in boxing here for 40 years and there’s never been anything like it.”
In addition to the Alderton clash, the bill will see Vic- torian champion Kyle “Big Bad Wolf” Webb meet Tasmanian Matthew Freshney in an eight- round cruiserweight match. Webb took out the Victorian title last week.
