‘I’m looking to put you in jail’
A FOULMOUTHED, noisy and belligerent Corio man will be assessed by a psychiatrist before learning if he’s going back to jail.
Alex Boros, 42, appeared briefly in Geelong County Court yesterday after being found guilty by a jury in February of making threats to kill a police officer and a bail justice, and menacing a child protection worker.
Boros was also found guilty in Geelong Magistrates’ Court late last year of resisting police and repeatedly breaching bail conditions and police requests to turn down the volume on his high-powered stereo, where he continually played K rock.
He was jailed over Christmas but was released in the new year to appeal the verdict and sentence, and was out of custody at the time of his trial, where he represented himself and thumbed his nose at the standard court procedures.
Judge Geoffrey Chettle said a psychologist’s report written since the trial provided more questions than answers, and a psychiatric examination was needed to ensure Boros got the most appropriate sentence.
During one of his rants to the psychologist, Boros described the Queen as “a f--king sl-t and a junkie”, the court heard.
“I am concerned you threatened to hurt people and f--k everybody,” Judge Chettle added.
“Quite frankly, at the moment I’m looking to put you in jail.”
Judge Chettle will return to Geelong on August 2 and 3 to consider Boros’ sentence for the threats and menacing matters and hear the appeal on the noise complaints.
