Ivan and Maree Volarevic, part of the family behind Geelong-based home decor empire Volare Concepts, created this five-bedroom playground attraction to host their extended family in Highton.

But they have listed the house at 116-118 Rivergum Drive as they plan a move to an even bigger property.

On normal days, the family of five has as plenty of space, but come family events or sleepovers and Ms Volarevic said it has comfortabl­y slept 17.

On a 1200sq m block, the property has a 9m fall, which means some fences are above standard 1.8m, when taking retaining walls into account.

It makes the cyclone mesh enclosure with a net over the roof an ingenious solution for the synthetic grass soccer pitch.

“We didn’t want the balls going elsewhere. Neighbours’ dogs chew them,” she said. “Even though all my kids are teenagers, when their friends come over they jump on the trampoline — they’re big kids at heart.

“And for New Year’s Eve, we had all the men in there playing soccer.”

Ms Volarevic said all the features meant she could keep her kids, aged 14, 16 and 18, safe at home with their friends.

“It’s great for sleepovers or family movie nights. And it’s quiet enough upstairs that we don’t hear them,” she said.

When they searched him the they found he had a slab of cho chocolate slice, a pastie in his poc pocket, he was eating a croissan sant and had a small amount of me methylamph­etamine.

The court heard Smith was hu hungry and had stolen food fro from a cafe delivery van by rea reaching through a metal grille.

Smith, who works at amusements parks, was fined $1000 plus costs.
