Award an apt reward for Adroit’s community focus
THE Geelong-founded Adroit Insurance and Risk has been acknowledged for its community engagement, which includes dedicating more than 460 hours of volunteering to charities and organisations last year.
Across the Adroit network, the business raised $300,000 through hosting and co-organising of events, contributed $95,000 in sponsorship to sporting clubs and community organisations and donated $63,000 to local charities.
The company won the national award for best community engagement program (broker) at the inaugural Insurance Business Awards in Sydney.
The Adroit group, which has branches in Albury/Wodonga, Ballarat, Bendigo, Doncaster, Geelong, Maryborough, Melbourne, Traralgon and Torquay, is also set to be officially rebranded Adroit Insurance and Risk.
Managing director Andrew Locke said the firm was thrilled to have won the community engagement award,
“To be recognised among the calibre of businesses that were nominated is truly humbling,” Mr Locke said.
“A strong community value is at the heart of our organisation and driven by the passion of our people.
“We are extremely proud of what we have achieved and are thrilled by the recognition this award brings.”
In 2014, Adroit developed a dedicated community investment strategy to provide more structure and focus on how the business wanted to engage in their local communities.
Over 16 years, the Adroit Geelong Charity Golf Day has raised more than $1 million, including in excess of $100,000 in the past two years.
The proceeds of the golf fundraiser have helped to fund many local Geelong charity initiatives over the years, including the Bethany Men’s Centre.
