FRESH ROYAL PORTRAITS UNVEILED

Markle’s nephew in strife over knife at a nightclub

-

TYLER Dooley, nephew of Britain’s newest royal Meghan Markle, took a knife to a London nightclub and then blamed Donald Trump’s warnings about the dangers of the British capital, The Sun newspaper has reported.

The daily said Mr Dooley, 25, a cannabis farmer who was not invited to the royal wedding in Windsor, handed the 25cm blade to a bouncer outside the club in Kingston, southwest London.

Police yesterday confirmed that a club in Kingston called officers after a man in his 20s “openly declared he had a knife as he attempted to enter the club.”

They said officers spoke to the man and another man in his 20s, and one of the pair also handed over a “noxious spray” believed to be a pepper spray. Neither man was arrested. The Sun quoted Mr Dooley as telling someone outside the club: “I just brought it because Donald Trump said London was like a war zone. I had it for protection”.

When contacted by a reporter, the paper said Mr Dooley “hid inside a bin cupboard” at his hotel.

Mr Dooley flew into London last week with his brother and mother, the exwife of Meghan’s half-brother Thomas, who was also not invited to the nuptials.

The run-up to the royal wedding was overshadowed by the media circus surrounding Meghan’s family including her father’s withdrawal from the service.

Mr Trump has stirred controversy with repeated references to security issues in Britain.

In a speech at the National Rifle Association in Texas this month, he talked about knife crime in London, comparing a hospital in the city to a “war zone”.

Knife-related crimes rose by 23 per cent in London last year.

THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex have thanked well-wishers who took part in their marriage celebrations as they released three official wedding pictures.

The couple, who wed on Saturday during a moving ceremony that reflected the diversity of modern Britain, are said to be feeling “so lucky” to have shared their big day with the thousands gathered in Windsor.

In a photograph taken by Alexi Lubomirski, the newlyweds are shown in a romantic pose on the east terrace of Windsor Castle still basking in the excitement of their wedding.

In another image, Harry and Meghan are pictured with the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Corn- wall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the bride’s mother, Doria Ragland, and the young bridesmaids and pageboys, including Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The final image shows the duke and duchess with the young children again, who were an integral part of their big day.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would like to thank everyone who took part in the celebrations of their wedding,” a Kensington Palace spokesman said.

“They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and also all those who watched the wedding on television across the UK, Commonwealth and around the world.

“Their Royal Highnesses are delighted with these official portraits taken by Alexi Lubomirski and are happy to be able to share them today.”

Celebrity photographer Lubomirski, who also took the couple’s official engagement pictures, said: “It has been an incredible honour and privilege to document The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s inspiring journey of love, hope and family; from the engagement photos, all the way through to the official wedding and family portraits on Saturday.

“This has been a beautiful chapter in my career and life, that I will happily never forget.”
