Pies go to Wells for clash

-

DANIEL Wells is back for Collingwood, but Fremantle goalsneak Hayden Ballantyne has been dropped in one of six changes made by the Dockers.

Wells returns for tomorrow’s clash between the sides at the MCG after being rested last week, with Brody Mihocek — who will make his debut — and Brayden Maynard also in.

But key trio Travis Varcoe (hamstring), Ben Reid (leg) and Jeremy Howe (knee) are all sidelined.

Ballantyne and experienced Dockers Michael Johnson, Brandon Matera and Danyle Pearce were axed, with Stephen Hill (quad) and Aaron Sandilands (concussion) injured.

Michael Apeness has been named as the lead ruckman in place of Sandilands, with Tommy Sheridan, Shane Kersten and Taylin Duman recalled, and Stefan Giro and Scott Jones to make his debut.

North Melbourne hosts Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium in tomorrow’s early game, with Majak Daw back from a rest and injury-plagued midfielder Paul Ahern to make his long-awaited debut.

Ryan Lester earned a call up for the Lions to replace Matt Eagles, who will miss with an abdominal strain.

Adelaide hosts Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval in the late game tomorrow. Paul Seedsman is back after he was a late withdrawal from last week’s thumping by Melbourne, with Lachlan Murphy recalled.

Giants co-captain Phil Davis returns from a concussion, with Sam Reid in and Sam Taylor to make his debut.
