Time to refocus for Lady Supercats

- JACOB GRAMS SEABL WOMEN

REDISCOVERING the form that put the Lady Supercats on a three-match winning streak is the focus for a return clash against the lowly Frankston Blues on Saturday.

Lady Supercats assistant coach Darren Busuttil labelled a last start 12-point win against the Centre of Excellence “one of the ugliest games I've been involved in” and hoped his side would look to their previous win over the Blues for inspiration to get back to their early season form.

“As long as we’re winning, I guess that’s all that counts,” he said.

“We certainly won ugly on the weekend. It was one of the ugliest games I’ve been involved in and they’re the ones you usually lose.”

The Lady Supercats could well be a sleeping giant thanks to a favourable run of six of their past seven matches coming up at home and the acrossthe-court threat that pushed them deep into the finals last season.

Ever-consistent Ebony Rolph and sharpshooter Isabella Brancotisano shape as keys to building momentum for the late season charge.

“We played Frankston a couple of weeks back, so we kind of know how they play and who to shut down and what to do, so that’s our focus for Saturday night and we’ll try to refocus our efforts on Kilsyth on Sunday,” Busuttil said.

“Frankston was probably one of our better games ... and if you look at their side, they have a fairly tight scoring group who score a lot of their points. If you can shut one or two of those down, then you’re generally going to keep them to a decent score.”
