SOME people are furious about the plastic bag ban but there’s actually a psychological reason behind this level of anger.

People complain about the socalled hypocrisy of supermarkets wrapping four tomatoes in plastic ... the thing is, it takes one step at a time. ‘Adults’ are just as bad as children — they throw temper tantrums if things don’t go their way. Grow up, people, it’s time to start evolving with the times. Jack Wayne

How can it be confusing? Just take your own. How hard is that? Hilary Elizabeth Edwick

Why get rid of one bag and then sell you another plastic bag? Colleen Low

Some people need to get out more. Jan Brasher

Too funny that we now need neuroscience to explain bag rage. How about people just get a little bit responsible and bring a bloody bag, and if you don’t like fruit wrapped in plastic, quite simply make a choice not to buy it. Helene Witthaus

I went the other day, it’s easy. There’s nothing wrong with changing bags, plus they are only 15c. I don’t know what people are crying about. Jake Baker-Brooks

It’s not like there isn’t any access to bags. You just have to pay 15c each. I’m in SA and have dealt with this socalled ‘plastic bag ban’ for nine years. Just adapt, people. . Eamon Jabarin

‘Caring about the environment’ is ridiculous. Bags will still get thrown out. Only difference: the stores profit by selling them. Alister Turley- Sunderland

That’s not the case at all. Reusable bags last a long time and rarely end up floating around the beach suffocating wildlife. Lizzy Page

How hard is it to take your own bags? We all need to take care of the environment or we will not have a healthy environment. Emily Barton

No store is really doing this for the environment, it’s all about making more money from the customer. We all now have more reason to not make those impulse purchases. Kim Graham
