FOOD, wine, fashion and wellness are among the key features of this year’s expanded Geelong Small Business Expo, which is being supported by more than 100 local businesses.

Organisers have moved the growing event to the exhibition space at Pivot City Innovation District for its third year, with the expo doubling as the official launch of the month-long Small Business Festival.

The Geelong Small Business Expo allows people to view and hear from a wide range of Geelong businesses and expert presenters and there is also live entertainment.

Entry to the not-for-profit event is by donation but patrons must pay for a ticket to the Food and Wine Enclosure, which will showcase local providers, allows access to alcoholic drinks not accessible outside the enclosure and offers other VIP experiences including a sample voucher.

Dennys Italian, which will be in the enclosure, is celebrating the start of a new chef and launch of a new menu by giving away at least 50 bottles of French champagne.

Event organiser Samantha Krajina, from Women in Business, said the expo was a chance for businesses to connect at the networking lounges as well as for the public to see what was on offer.

“We want businesses to collaborate and work together,” Ms Krajina said.

The fashion show, which is based on a theme of diversity, involves a host of local boutiques and stylists.

“We get a lot of people come for the fashion show,” Ms Krajina said.

She is hoping for a total audience of about 1000 on the day.

The Geelong Small Business Expo is on July 28 from 10am to 4pm. All profits go to Vinnies.
