POSITIVE FOCUS FOR BOOF

-

DARREN Lehmann has vowed to tell all when he fronts an audience in Geelong.

Lehmann, who fell on his sword in the wake of the ball-tampering incident in South Africa, has declared nothing is off limits when he headlines a luncheon later this month.

“I’ll talk about it,” he said of the scandal that tarnished Australian cricket.

“A lot of people know about it and I’ll get questions about it, I’m sure.

“That’s part and parcel of speaking gigs. I’ll talk about my career as a player and a coach, and tell some stories and have a bit of fun. It will be lighthearted and I’ll talk about the positives, more so than the negatives.” A Sunday Session with Darren “Boof” Lehmann hits South Barwon Cricket Club on August 19.

It has been more than 20 years since Lehmann visited Geelong, lining up for Carlton in Victorian Premier Cricket.

“We played grade cricket, and I can’t remember the name of the oval, but it was a knockout one-day game,” he said.

“That’s going back a while now.”

For the record, Lehmann made a ton against the Cats on that day.

The function runs from 12.30 to 4pm. Tickets start at $75. For information, visit http://southbarwon.vic. cricket.com.au/ or call Simon Breuer on 0418 713 569, Glenn Hauenstein on 0439 311 833 or Darren Hauenstein on 0411 055 941.
