YOUNG CAT KICKING PROPERTY GOALS

-

GEELONG young gun Brandan Parfitt has scored his first home.

The 20-year-old, who’s playing his second season for the Cats, splashed $715,000 on a three-bedroom house in Geelong West last week.

A chuffed Parfitt shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of himself outside the double-storey pad with the caption: “First house!!!!”

The 2017 AFL Rising Star nominee also thanked teammate Jack Henry and company Geelong Real Estate Advocates for their help securing the house in the post.

CoreLogic records show the property was on the market for just 21 days with a $670,000-$720,000 quoted range before being snapped up. It had previously changed hands for $575,500 in late-2011.

Selling agency Buxton Newtown marketed the “charming” property as “the perfect start” for young buyers wanting to “get into (a) prime location”.

A large open-plan living and dining area makes up most of the ground floor, featuring hardwood floors and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and stone benchtops, and flowing out to a covered deck suited for entertaining.

The three bedrooms can be found upstairs, the pick of them boasting a “walk-through” wardrobe and doublevanity ensuite. Completing the package is a double-garage.

Parfitt, his buyer’s advocate and Buxton Newtown declined to comment on the sale.

The up-and-comer has been living with fellow young Cats Quinton Narkle and Esava Ratugolea, according to a

interview with Narkle last month. SAMANTHA LANDY
