Boom town cranes reach for the skyline
GEELONG’S city skyline is reaching new heights, with four cranes taking up residence to support the town’s construction boom.
The cranes are helping Geelong take on a new look with more than $300 million worth of development taking place within the CBD.
A 50 metre-high tower crane will dominate the skyline for the next year as Sinclair Brook’s 110-apartment development G1 Apartments rises from the ground.
Sinclair Brook project manager John Grigg said Ireland Brown Construction were well under way with construction works.
“Despite the cold and wet winter conditions, construction works are on track and we will now start to see the mid-rise building become part of the Geelong skyline,” Mr Grigg said.
There are only four apartments left for sale in the development on the corner of Bellerine St and Little Myers St.
Sinclair Brook has worked with a team of talented professionals including architect Daryl Pelchen and interior styling by Nadia Bartel to offer well designed, sophisticated and high-quality apartments to central Geelong.
Mr Grigg said as a local resident running the Sinclair Brook Geelong office it was great to see how progressive Geelong had become.
“There are a lot of new development projects under way, which are bringing modern, commercial offices, residential apartments, hotels, townhouses and land estates to life,” he said.
Construction of the G1 Apartments is expected to reach completion in late 2019. There are also cranes installed at the new NDIA headquarters, GPAC and Miramar.
