A grand place to look for ghosts

-

CALLING all ghost busters.

Portarlington’s Grand Hotel will host a ghost hunt tomorrow night in conjunction with Aussiedownunder Paranormal Investigations.

ADUPI investigator Soula Vaitsis, 44, will be one of those leading about 25 people already booked in for the hunt.

“Saturday night we’re investigating the Grand that was built in 1888,” Ms Vaitsis said.

She said ADUPI had previously detected spirits in the building.

“We have some spirits that are still lingering there,” she said. “We believe the original owner is still there. We keep getting the name Ed, or Edward.”

Ms Vaitsis said the investigations often attracted first-time ghost hunters.

“Most are first-timers. They are interested in the paranormal and want to experience it to see what it’s about. Others might have had an experience,” she said.

“Some people freak out. Sometimes you get a few that scream, some start crying.

“Some are really in awe they just can’t believe it, and you get some sceptics who change their minds.”

The ghost hunting team will use K2 meters to measure electromagnetic fields, as well as audio and video recorders, to detect spirits.

The investigation will be conducted in the dark.

There are places available for tomorrow’s ghost hunt.
