A TEENAGER has been hospitalised after an shocking targeted attack in Grovedale.

Police said a car was aimed at two male pedestrians on Baltana St about 6pm, after the driver had earlier passed the pair and flashed the car’s headlights.

One of the Grovedale men, aged 20, managed to jump out of the way.

However, a 19-year-old man was struck by the 4WD.

The driver continued along Baltana St, before returning to the scene again.

The 19-year-old was taken to Geelong hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.

Police were last night investigating the incident, and were appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A neighbour said they had heard arguing and then a car “flying” down the street in a heated lead-up to the incident.

“I was inside (my house) but I could hear a car going really fast,” the resident told the Geelong Advertiser. leading to speculation that it was a hit and run.

The incident follows a hitrun crash in Norlane last month.

In that incident, police said the male driver of a red Holden sedan, believed to be aged in his mid-20s, fled Iona St on foot after colliding with another car.

The other driver, a 52-yearold Bell Park man, was taken to Geelong hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.
