“I’d love to take the kids to Disneyland and all over Canada.” SCRATCHIE WINNER

A GEELONG man has turned a $4 scratchie into $50,000 after claiming one of the game’s top prizes.

The Highton dad, who wished to remain anonymous, plans to take his family on the adventure of a lifetime with the winnings.

“We’ll definitely put some away to save for the future but we’d love to take a family holiday to America,” he said.

“I’d love to take the kids to Disneyland and all over Canada.”

The $4 Aztec Adventure Instant Scratch-Its ticket was a gift purchased for the man by his partner at Highton Lotto.

“Every now and then when she is out shopping she picks me up one,” he said.

“We scratched it while we were making dinner and couldn’t believe it. I think we are still stunned.

“We didn’t think it could be real so we went to the outlet to check it and he told us it was definitely a winner.”

Highton Lotto co-owner Vivienne Hodgson said she was thrilled to have sold the outlet’s first top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its.

“It was great to sell such a big win, it got everyone excited in store,” she said.

“It just goes to show that you can win a top prize at any time — you just don’t know what is underneath that scratchie.”
